Welcome to PreschoolABA

Recognising the vital role that preschool teachers play in the development and well-being of young children, including those with autism

About the project

This project recognizes the crucial role of preschool teachers in shaping the development and well-being of young children, particularly those with autism. It aims to create an evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) training package to enhance teachers’ capabilities in early interventions. ABA, a proven approach for assisting children with autism, forms the core of this package, which includes a comprehensive curriculum and a handbook for hands-on training, covering theoretical knowledge, practical applications, and real-life case studies.

Emphasizing the importance of an evidence-based ABA approach, the project seeks to equip teachers with essential knowledge and skills to foster positive, supportive learning environments for autistic children. This initiative bridges the gap between current practices and best practices, offering preschool teachers the latest research and evidence-based strategies for managing behavior and promoting inclusion and diversity in early childhood education.

Investment in this teacher training program promises significant benefits, notably creating inclusive, supportive learning environments that lead to improved educational outcomes and reduced disparities for all children. This project is of high relevance and merits funding, as it addresses a critical need in early childhood education and has the potential to positively impact the lives of preschool students with autism.

Project Priorities

  1. To enhance the quality of early childhood education systems through effective teacher training and intervention strategies.
  2. To promote inclusion and diversity in educational settings, accommodating children from various backgrounds and with different abilities.
  3. To reduce stigma and discrimination associated with autism by raising awareness in the community.
  4. To support the professional development and well-being of teachers, leading to sustainable and fulfilling careers in early childhood education.

Project Objectives

  1. Train preschool teachers in evidence-based interventions for children with autism.
  2. Increase awareness and understanding of autism among preschool teachers and the wider community.
  3. Develop and deliver a comprehensive training program on early interventions and behavior management for children with autism.
